Money With Photography
Maybe it is easy for me to say as I am fairly experienced, a large stock of images and some fairly good contacts in the business. However, even for someone just starting out, there are many ways in which to get yourself seen and to also earn good money with your camera.
Please note: This site is not a "get rich quick" scheme, nor will it cost you money to join. This is free knowledge! Any advice and/or tips given for earning money from photography will require hard work and a dedication, but will be well worth it.
This page will grow as I build the Money In Photography site, but I wanted to get it up and running now that I am receiving a fair amount of traffic through MySpace.
No matter what stage you are at or what experience you have, if you can take a half decent photograph, you are on the way to making money with your camera. It will take time to get started, but if it was that easy, EVERYONE would do it.
Now, obviously as a beginner, you won't be going out and doing society weddings or anything. You need to get to know your camera, how it works and then start to use it to your best advantage. The first thing you should maybe look at is selling your images as stock as detailed further down the page.
Freelance
Because of the Internet, freelance photography is a growing field.
But what are these freelance photography jobs? There are so many different kinds! You could end up taking pictures of flowers for a calender. Or perhaps you would like to take photos for a magazine or newspaper! Whatever your special skills, you can find freelance photography jobs.
If you're a creative and artistic person, it's not surprising that you want to set your own hours, pick your own jobs, and answer to only yourself. This is why freelance work is so popular among artists, writers, and photographers in particular. And images speak louder than words – thus, they will always be in demand, whether for mere illustration or to sell products.
However, there are plenty of freelance photographers out there, which makes the job market awfully competitive. In addition to building up an impressive portfolio, you will also need to actively hunt down jobs. So how do you do this?
You can use Go Freelance to get in touch with employees who need various photos. You can be matched up with a job that's just perfect for you. Go Freelance is a great resource that connects photographers to employers! So if you're interested in freelance photography jobs, Freelance Work Exchange is a great place to get your photography noticed so you can ensure that you always have another gig around the corner.
But remember, freelance work is not for everyone. Still, if you find it suits you well, then you just might find it changes your life for the better.

Selling Your Photography/Video As Stock
A lot of new photographers ask how to make money thru photography while still trying to build their portfolios. It's not easy starting out with photography, but this program I've found is a fantastic way to make a little side cash....and virtually while you sleep.
Lots of companies need photos for small things like web ads, banners, etc. They pay a monthly fee to use stock sites and are using thousands of images a day....so why not yours?
I've joined with many stock photography sites (iStock, etc), but due to their large numbers, they are flooded with content and it's virtually impossible to make a decent amount of money due to their saturated market.
The site I have found that works best for all photographers, from beginners to pros is

Where can I find models to pose for me?
There are plenty of sites that host photographer portfolios as well as make it extremely easy to find models for work. Keep in mind, the stronger your portfolio, the better models you will attract.

Another great way to make money is to offer out of the ordinary merchandise. Everyone knows you can make money on printing, but many forget to set your business apart from the rest. You can do this by offering an assortment of products from mugs to postage and so much more. Flip through these sites to see the large array of products you can offer to your clients.
